We can offer these courses at both our Norwich and Hales branches.
All learner motorcyclists must pass a CBT course before riding a moped on the road. When you successfully complete the course, you will be issued with a certificate (DL196) that is valid for two years from the date of issue. CBT courses are operated on a maximum of 2:1 pupil instructor ratio.
CBT is not a test and there is no exam - it is a training course that you are required to complete before going on the road. The CBT course syllabus includes five elements. These five elements have to be completed in turn. You can only move on to the next element when your instructor is satisfied that you have learned the necessary theory and demonstrated the practical skills to a safe basic level.
We carry out CBT training courses 6 days a week at both our Norwich and Hales branches, Monday through to Saturday. The course starts at 08.45am and finishes around 4.30pm. You will be assessed throughout the day, riding at our training site before venturing out on the open road. Once the instructor is satisfied that you have achieved the required level of competency, you will be issued with your CBT certificate.
Should you wish to go on to train for your full licence, you will need to pass a motorcycle theory test. We offer training for the Direct Access Test at both our Norwich and Hales branches.
Our course prices are all inclusive of motorbike hire, insurance, CBT test, and clothing hire (waterproof jacket, trousers, helmet, gloves and boots.) All CBTs require a £50 deposit, which is non-refundable if cancellation is not received 10 days prior to the booked date. Please check that you have provisional motorcycle entitlement on your licence before booking a course. You must bring with you your signed UK licence. If you have a photocard licence, you will also need to bring with you the counterpart licence (D740).
We regret that we are unable to run courses with pupils using their own bikes.
